For Emergencies Call 911

E and M with three Stars

Emergency Management coordinates the activities of volunteer, public and private agencies, City, State, and Federal officials and constituents in all phases of emergency management (Preparedness, Response, Recovery, and Mitigation).

The department develops plans, exercises, and coordinates emergency management training for the County of Wyandotte County and allied agencies. This Plan addresses disaster mitigation, planning and preparedness, response to, and recovery from large scale emergencies and disasters that may affect our local area. The intent of this program is to minimize the impact of disasters, provide and support necessary disaster operations to protect the public and reduce damage, and to enable an effective disaster recovery.

We assure timely and adequate public warning of potential or imminent disaster events and provide disaster-related safety information to the public and media. Available on a 24-hour, 7-days-a-week basis.
