Tax sales are held to help collect unpaid taxes. The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas holds two public auctions per year to sell property that is eligible for the tax sale. Tax sale eligible properties are those that have delinquent taxes for at least three years for homestead properties, two years for commercial properties and one year for vacant and abandoned properties.
We have provided some information that will assist you with either buying a property at the tax sale or how to prevent your property from being sold at the tax sale.
Due to a publishing error, the June 26th tax sale is being postponed until August 14, 2024. This delay will allow anyone whose property is in the tax sale additional time to make arrangements to remove their property from the sale.
