Our CLIA-accredited laboratory provides support services for clinics within the Health Department and direct access lab tests for the public, including lab tests most often requested by healthcare providers. All tests are performed either at our site or at other accredited laboratories. 

Services

  • Sexually Transmitted Infection testing, including gonorrhea & chlamydia, HIV, and syphilis (see our STI clinic)
  • Pregnancy testing (see our Family Planning clinic)
  • Titers for immunity for Hepatitis B, Mumps, Rubella (German or 3-day measles), Rubeola (Measles), and Varicella Zoster (Chicken Pox)
  • DNA for Paternity: Call DNA Diagnostics at 1 (800) 362-2368 to make an appointment. We are a collection site only.

For Laboratory testing, call (913) 573-8855 to make an appointment Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM.

STI Testing and Pregnancy Testing: For sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing, see our STI services clinic first. For pregnancy testing, see our Family Planning clinic first. Appointments are available Monday - Thursday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (appointment slots until 5:30 PM on Thursdays), and we accept walk-ins for these services on Fridays, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM.

DNA Testing for Paternity: This is only scheduled through calling DNA Diagnostics at 1 (800) 362-2368

Fees

There is a fee for each test for walk-in lab patients. For patients of other clinics, there is a nominal fee charged for most personal health services. Some fees are based on a sliding scale fee, while others have a set fee.

Eligibility

No eligibility requirements for services available to the general public or "self-pay" clients. All other services must meet the eligibility requirements of the clinic requesting the lab tests.
