The UG Public Health Department provides various health services for individuals and families. Services are available by appointment. For more information or to make an appointment, call (913) 573-8855.

We now offer Limited Primary Care services. These services include treatment for common conditions (ages 18 and older), pre-employment physicals (ages 18 and older), and sports and camp physicals (ages 12 and older). Call us at (913) 573-5131 to make an appointment. Same-day appointments available.

Physicals

Pre-Employment Physicals:
  • Cost: $75
  • Eligibility: For adults ages 18 and older
Sports and Camp Physicals:
  • Cost: $45
  • Eligibility: For people ages 12 and older

Treatment for Common Health Concerns

Cost: $45 

Eligibility: Available for adults ages 18 and older. 

Skin: Rash, small wounds, bug bites, and common skin conditions 
  • Acne treatment
  • Athlete’s foot
  • Bug bite and sting treatment (including tick bites)
  • Burns, blisters, and small wounds
  • Hidradenitis suppurativa
  • Impetigo
  • Lice
  • Poison Ivy, Oak, Sumac
  • Ring worm
  • Scabies
  • Shingles treatment
  • Splinter removal
  • Stich removal
Ear, Nose, Throat 
  • Mild upper respiratory symptoms, such as cough, sneezing, sore throat, and runny or stuffy nose
  • Ear infection (otitis media)
  • Ear wax removal 
  • Swimmer’s Ear 
Other Common Conditions 
  • Conjunctivitis (pink eye) 
  • Urinary tract infections 

Breast Health - Pink the Dotte

Breast and cervical health, and early detection screening services.

Family Planning

Provides income-based services to promote, equip and encourage healthy lifestyles and positive sexual responsibility behaviors.

Laboratory

Provides support services for clinics within the Health Department and limited testing to the general public.

Prenatal & Maternal Health Services

Prenatal Care Collaborative for clients who do not qualify for Medicaid or other health insurance.

Free Prenatal Classes

Free prenatal education classes are available to all pregnant women and supporting families in Wyandotte County.

WIC (Women, Infants, Children)

Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.
