New Homeownership Program Offered in the KC Armourdale Area

Offering Homeownership Solutions for Residents in the KC Armourdale Area
The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS (UG), in partnership with the Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City are excited to announce the opening of applications for the newly created Homeownership Program launching in the KC Armourdale Area. This program will support resident ownership of four recently built and rehabbed homes in the area.
To ensure residents fully understand the homeownership process, the Armourdale Homeownership Program will kick off with two information sessions both in English and Spanish on Saturday, March 19th, 2022 (English) and Saturday, April 2, 2022 (Spanish). In addition to better understanding the homeownership process, session attendees will also have the opportunity to gain direct ownership coaching and education by Habitat for Humanity KC Staff.
“The Unified Government is excited about this opportunity to turn Armourdale renters into Armourdale homeowners,” said UG Director of Planning and Urban Design, Gunnar Hand. “In partnership with Habitat for Humanity of KC, these new single-family homes continue the legacy of the Armourdale neighborhood as an important ladder to economic prosperity and generational wealth-building in our community and is a critical implementation action identified in the recently adopted Armourdale Area Master Plan. By recognizing the Armourdale residential neighborhood is here to stay, we are already seeing this type of reinvestment in this community from the certainty that this policy document has created in the marketplace.”
Individuals interested in attending one of the information sessions, are asked to register at Homeownership Program Information Sessions. Program sessions will be held at the Habitat for Humanity KC headquarters at 1423 E. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri 64109.
