Nationwide Search Launched for New Juvenile Detention Center Admin.

The Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office is launching a nationwide search for qualified candidates to fill the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) Administrator position. After 30 years of service, the current Administrator, Terri Broadus, will be retiring in June of this year.
This highly skilled role will oversee all aspects of Juvenile Detention Center operations and programs. Some of the overall tasks include developing policies and procedures, as well as interfacing with other local, state, and federal agencies.
“The Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office is seeking an energetic, passionate, and experienced person to fill the Juvenile Detention Center Administrator position,” said Wyandotte County Sheriff Daniel Soptic. “As our current, long-term Administrator is retiring, we are looking to bring someone into the agency that shares the same vision and commitment as the Sheriff’s Office and our current Administrator. The Juvenile Detention Center is charged with the care, custody, and leadership of those in the facility, and the Administrator directly shares in that responsibility. The person we hire must be well-versed in the world of juvenile detention laws, specifically pertaining to juvenile justice and best practices for juvenile detention. We are excited to see who our next Juvenile Detention Administrator will be.”
In addition to overseeing daily operations and developing policies and procedures, the Administrator will provide leadership regarding the JDC training curriculum, prepare the annual department budget, and perform a host of other impactful duties.
