It's not every day that a family of firefighters get to work a shift together, but the Kansas City, Kansas Fire Department (KCKFD) made that dream become a reality. On Wednesday, March 19, Assistant Chief Chad Womble, had the once in a lifetime opportunity to work with his three sons and son-in-law together at Fire Station 19 for a 24-hour shift.
"I can't tell you how proud I am to serve alongside my sons, and to watch them in action today, as they treat members of our community during their time of need," said Asst. Chief Womble. "To watch the way they care about people, and the skill with which they perform their duties, it's just really overwhelming. All I can really say is their mom did a really good job of raising them."
