Tuesday marked another progressive milestone at the KCKPD with the official ribbon cutting on our new Real Time Intelligence Crime Center (RTICC). This state-of-the-art unit, which utilizes a network of cameras and license plate readers throughout the city, and other high-tech tools will help track criminals and solve cases more quickly.

What Does This Mean for the Community?

Officers are now able to get criminals off the streets, increase the chances of recovering stolen property, build stronger cases for prosecution and make your neighborhood more safe!

The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department (KCKPD) would also like to extend a special thank you to UG Commissioner Phil Lopez for purchasing the department another high-tech tool, thermal imaging scopes. These will prove very beneficial when officers are taxed with locating suspects or missing persons at night.

The KCKPD truly appreciates his support and that of Mayor Garner, County Administrator David Johnston, the office of Senator Jerry Moran, and other officials who attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.
