Drivers should be aware of upcoming intermittent lane reductions on Fairfax Trafficway south of Quindaro Boulevard as part of the ongoing rehabilitation project. Starting the week of June 10th and lasting until June 21st, traffic will be reduced to one lane through the existing construction zone.

These lane reductions, lasting only a few hours at a time, are necessary to facilitate equipment required for repairs, ensuring the work is completed as quickly and efficiently as possible. Traffic control flaggers will be positioned at each end of the construction zone to manage traffic flow and ensure safety.

This project aims to address a failing section of Fairfax Trafficway. Plans are to reopen the roadway to four full lanes of traffic, featuring two lanes of travel in each direction. Major construction began in early May, with completion scheduled for August. Once finished, the improved trafficway will enhance the area's traffic flow and safety.

Motorists are urged to remain mindful of construction workers, equipment, and other traffic during the lane reduction periods. For any questions about the project or lane closures, please contact the project manager, Brandon Grover, by calling 3-1-1. Remember to drive aware and drive safe to ensure the safety of all road users.
