Public buildings open again, with normal operations resuming at 8am on Thursday, February 18th
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Public Buildings Re-Open, and Operations Return to Normal Customers may experience delays in trash pickup.
The Unified Government will have public buildings open again, with normal operations resuming at 8am on Thursday, February 18th. Buildings were previously closed with staff working remotely to help the region conserve energy during the extreme weather.
Although winter temperatures are expected to rise and return to normal ranges, Warming Centers will remain open during regular hours. Community members with court dates should confirm when their hearings will be rescheduled.
Trash services have resumed. On Thursday, February 18, Waste Management will finish any incomplete routes from Tuesday and Wednesday and begin regular Thursday collection. If Thursday customers do not have their pickup, Waste Management asks that items are left outside for pickup on Friday. If necessary, Friday collections may continue through Saturday. The Waste Management team is bringing in extra drivers, trucks, and staff to ensure service for all routes by this weekend. Recycling collection should be caught up by Thursday, February 18. Service updates are being provided via Facebook and Nextdoor should weather conditions deteriorate and cause additional disruption. To report service issues, call 3-1-1 or visit mywyco.wycokck.org
The Unified Government will continue to provide service updates via our social media and website as we closely monitor the situation with the Board of Public Utilities (BPU). Information on electric service outages can be found online by calling BPU at 913-573-0522.
