Mayors Present Proclamation to Health Department

In observance of National Public Health Week 2019, the Unified Government Public Health Department held a Public Health Open House on Thursday, April 4th from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

Director, Terry Brecheisen, read a proclamation signed by Unified Government Mayor/CEO, David Alvey, City of Edwardsville Mayor, John McTaggart and Bonner Springs Mayor, Jeff Harrington, in recognition of the county health department's local public health efforts.

“The first week in April is designated each year as National Public Health Week.  It is time to recognize and highlight the work of public health in our nation and community,” says Terry Brecheisen, Director, UG Public Health Department.  “Public Health seeks to prevent illness and injury, promote good health practices, and protect the public from environmental hazards.  Public health is a wise investment.”
